Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your Coach's Dugout account and exactly what happens to your data when you do.

Last updated: October 1, 2026.

From inside the app

  1. Sign in to Coach's Dugout.
  2. Open Settings from any team.
  3. Find Delete your account at the bottom.
  4. Type DELETE to confirm. This cannot be undone.

The button deletes your teams and everything in them, and then your sign-in too — your email address and password, which are held by our authentication provider. If the last step ever fails, the app tells you in plain words that your data is gone but your sign-in is not; type DELETE and press the button again to retry, or email us as described below.

The confirmation is typed rather than clicked on purpose. This is the only action in the app that removes every team at once, and a single button doing that is a button somebody hits by accident on a phone.

By email, if you cannot get into the app

Email support@coaches-dugout.com from the address you use to sign in, with the subject “Delete my account.” Sending it from your own sign-in address is what lets us confirm the request is really yours. We will delete your data and your sign-in record, and reply to confirm. Use this route if you cannot sign in, or if the app told you it could not remove your sign-in.

What gets deleted

  • Your account and sign-in — your email address and password.
  • Every team you own, and everything in it: roster, player names, notes and ratings, rule sets, schedules, generated lineups and practice plans, and pitch logs.
  • Any invites you had sent that were still outstanding.
  • Your membership on a team you do not own — you lose access to it; that team and its data stay with its owner.

If you are a head coach with assistants on your team, deleting your account deletes the team, and your assistants lose access along with it — the same way it works when you remove an assistant individually, just applied to the whole team. Their own accounts are not touched, and any team they own themselves is unaffected.

What we keep, and for how long

Your data is removed from active systems immediately, and from backups within 30 days. We retain nothing beyond that except records we are legally required to keep — for example, basic account records for legal or accounting purposes.

Deleting some things without deleting everything

You do not have to delete your account to remove something:

  • Remove a player from the roster to delete their record.
  • Delete a plan, or a game that has no logged pitch counts, at any time.
  • Delete an entire archived season from the Season tab. Your current roster, player records and ratings are not affected — those are live data, not part of any season's archive.
  • Edit any record directly instead of deleting it.

One thing cannot be deleted: a game with logged pitch counts. Those counts are what the rest-day safety maths reads, and removing them could clear a pitcher who is not actually rested. If a count is wrong, edit the count — the game itself stays.

Separately, no archived season is kept longer than 24 months, whatever you choose. See the Privacy Policy for how that works.
